QUESTION OF THE DAY #1 - Is there a difference between the 1/24 and 1/25 scale vehicles?

Is there a difference between the 1/24 and 1/25 scale vehicles?

Through the many years building, the answer for me has equated to which company produced the car, not the actual size.  For example, Revell 1/24 vs AMT 1/25 - 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454.  Both companies make decent models, but the Revell has better detail, easier assembly, better wheels/tires, and the front end is heads-and-tails better designed.  On the other side, Tamiya's Jaguar XJ220 is twice the model as Testor's XJ220, but they are both 1/24 scale.

For me, there are two things to truly keep in mind with 1/24 vs. 1/25.  The first is that if you completely botch a 1/24, most salvaged pieces will NOT work on a 1/25 (unless tires, exhaust tips, and the like).  Windshield, engine, suspension, interior, and so on, will all be the wrong size, shape, or have the wrong pegs and holes.  The second thing is not to be surprised when the 1969 Coronet 1/24 looks much bigger than it should next to a 1/25 1967 Corvette.  Different sized cars aside, they are EXTREMELY different if not scaled the same.

Let me know what you think!!
